STEP 1: FREE CONSULTATION

Before beginning treatment, you’ll meet with an AviClear® expert at CLEAR for a complimentary consultation. This is where we take a close look at your skin, go over your acne history, and talk through your goals.

We’ll answer any questions, explain how AviClear® works, and help you determine if it’s the right fit for you. The vast majority of people struggling with acne are great candidates.

STEP 2: GETTING READY

One of the things people love about AviClear® is how simple the prep is. You don’t need to stop using your usual skincare—even if it includes active ingredients like tretinoin, glycolic acid, or salicylic acid. You also don’t have to pause oral medications like antibiotics or Accutane®.

The only things we ask you to avoid are:

• Sunburns in the area to be treated

• Self-tanner or spray tan on the treatment area

• Other laser treatments in the previous 2–4 weeks, depending on the intensity of the treatment

• Facials within 2 weeks of your AviClear® appointment

That’s it. As long as your skin is healthy, untanned, and hasn’t had recent procedures, you’re good to go. We’ll give you clear instructions before your session to make sure everything goes smoothly.

STEP 3: THE TREATMENT SESSIONS

AviClear® is performed in a series of three treatments, spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart. Whether we’re treating your face, back, chest, or another area, each session follows a similar structure.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A SESSION?

• We begin by cleansing the treatment area thoroughly.

• Then we use the AviClear® laser to methodically pulse across the skin. The device is precise and consistent, ensuring even coverage across the full treatment zone.

• The sensation is a warm, prickly feeling, followed by the cooling sensation from the sapphire tip that keeps your skin at a safe, comfortable temperature.

Most clients describe it as mildly uncomfortable in sensitive areas, but very manageable—and much less intense than other laser treatments. There’s no numbing needed and no downtime afterward.

You can walk out of the appointment and go straight back to your day.

STEP 4: WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT

After each session, you might experience some temporary redness or sensitivity, but it usually fades within a few hours. There’s no need to change your daily routine or avoid your regular products unless instructed otherwise by your provider.

WHAT ABOUT PURGING?

Some clients experience a purge after their session. This is a temporary phase where breakouts may flare up before getting better. It happens as your oil glands begin to shrink and your skin starts to push out congestion that’s been trapped beneath the surface.

Not everyone purges, but if it happens, it typically starts 1–4 weeks after your treatment and resolves fairly quickly.

STEP 5: RESULTS BUILD OVER TIME

AviClear® isn’t an instant fix—it’s a long-term solution. Because it works by targeting your oil glands, the changes happen gradually, but they’re designed to last.

Here’s what the timeline typically looks like:

• After 1 treatment: You may start noticing subtle improvements in texture or fewer deep breakouts.

• After 2 treatments: Many clients begin to see fewer new pimples and faster healing of old ones.

• After all 3 sessions: Breakouts continue to slow down, and oil production decreases noticeably.
